The Mall of Central Park

Not surprisingly, my sisters favourite part of the whole city... “The Mall”!
It's located in the middle of the park from 66th to 72nd.  And coming from Bethesda Terrace, it's impossible to miss.
Lined with benches, street lamps and beautiful american elm trees, it invites you to sit and watch the world go by.  Serenaded by the mariachi bands playing in the distance, only makes the scenery around you complete.
Wander down aways and you can get your portrait drawn right on the spot. Take in the antics of all the interesting street performers. The energy and variety is amazing!  From opera music, to the sax players right out of a street in New Orleans.  You'll be captivated by the world's most massive bubble blower and swear you are in the middle of a movie set!
My sister and I love grabbing a Starbucks and strolling through.

I'd highly advise you to take a stroll through, see if you can spot Shakespeare. ;)

"Once referred to as an "open air hall of reception" by its creators, the Mall was specially designed to accommodate the width of carriages passing through its bounds. Around the turn of the century, these carriages would drop off their wealthy inhabitants at the Mall's starting point, where they could enjoy the natural scenery and mingle with people of lesser status. When these visitors finally reached the Bethesda Terrace, their carriages would be waiting to bring them to their next destination"
